Shade Tree School offers grades K-12

Shade Tree Academy empowers at-risk students who are or were in foster care by providing them with the necessary support, resources, and tools needed to be successful in their return to their school of origin. 

Shade Tree Academy classroom offers a seven-to-one student to academic instructor ratio.  With low student-to-instructor ratios, trauma-informed instructors, and staff, on-site clinicians and a holistic approach using positive psychology, each student at Shade Tree Academy receives an individualized education tailored to meet their unique needs as they heal from the loss and trauma they have experienced. 

Students do not learn when dysregulated or distracted. Every student is provided a safe spot. Throughout the day, students work on boundaries, emotional self-regulation techniques and healthy relationship skills. Mindfulness, relaxation, deep breathing, meditation, grounding and bilateral stimulation techniques are practiced daily. 

We use a variety of proven curriculum that helps us meet the child where they are at. We want to fill in any gaps and help each student thrive academically. 

Students may be eligible for the School Tuition Organization (STO) tax credit funds or Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funding.

We believe in nurturing not only academic excellence but also a compassionate heart. As part of our commitment to instilling core values in our students, we encourage them to serve their community and make a positive impact.

Once a month, our students have a unique opportunity to participate in ASA Now's monthly food distribution event. This heartwarming event allows them to give back to the community and actively contribute to the well-being of those in need.

By participating in the food distribution, our students learn the importance of empathy, kindness, and generosity. They witness firsthand the power of collective effort and the difference it can make in the lives of others.
